As we guarantee snow you will spend remarkable holidays with us. Weather permitting (official proclaimation of the twon Zell am See that the ice is safe) the lighted curling-track on the frozen lake and curling-sticks (free of charge) are at your disposal.
If the ice on the lake is thick enough and permission of the community of Zell am See is provided the lake changes into the largest playground of the area! Many sports – activities (also possible apart from the lake) can be performed on the ice:
- cross-country-tracks on the lake
- ein geräumter und gepflegter Eislaufweg rund um den See
- markierte Wanderwege auf dem Eis über den See
- zahlreiche Veranstaltungen (Eis-Opening) mit Verpflegungsstationen (Eisbars usw)
On nice weekends there are often thousands of people on the lake, enjoying hiking, skating, cross-country or even the mountainbike.

Our Gasthof Seestrand is 4kms away from the skiing area of the Schmittenhöhe and 9kms from the Kitzsteinhorn.
The ski-bus (the stop is only 200m away from the house) will take you safely and free of charge to the skiing areas and back.
